Smoothies positively impact our wellbeing: they provide us with important nutrients and good energy. Rich in vitamins, they are excellent for hair and skin.
To start the day off well, I like to prepare smoothies for André and me. My nutritional philosophy is about providing the body with sufficient nutrients on a daily basis while ensuring we stay hydrated. Smoothies are two-in-one!
My perfect smoothie is composed of 3 parts:
1/3 fruit (e.g., blueberries, strawberries, bananas, avocado, dates)
1/3 vegetable (e.g., spinach, kale, lettuce, herbs, sprouts)
Place all three in a blender. You can sweeten with some maple syrup if you find the taste too bitter. Sometimes I add a little nut butter. Don't forget while you’re drinking it, get a little chewing action to enhance digestion of the smoothie. Chewing starts the digestive juices going and so helps relieve the strain so much fiber can put on the intestines.
