Bag trends are always one of those things: if you want to be right in the middle of the trend, designer purchases should always be very carefully considered. Because in order to enjoy an accessory for a long time, an entertaining enthusiasm for trends is by no means enough. Rather, it is important to consider how timeless is the trend and how well can it be integrated into your own wardrobe over the long term? With this question in mind, we looked at the forecasts for the coming year and were able to filter out three pocket trends that meet the current zeitgeist, but are also classic enough to happily wear those ten years from now.
1. Hobo Bags from Bottega Veneta
Hardly any other brand combines tradition and zeitgeist as skillfully as Bottega Veneta. With Daniel Lee's position as creative director, a new era began for the Italian luxury label: the iconic intrecciato - braiding technique made of leather suddenly received a modern touch - and, paired with new colors and shapes, manifested itself as one of the most sought-after accessory details of our time. So we can't get enough of the "New Bottega" designs, and see the Jodie model in particular as the absolute It-Bag of 2021. No matter whether in large, medium or the new mini version: the rounded hobo bags from Bottega Veneta will accompany us steadily over the coming year.
2. Mini Bags from Jacquemus
The iconic mini bags by Jacquemus have been seen over several seasons - and not only on the runway, but also in various street styles and via social media. The French designer has reinvented and revolutionized a bag size that we would have categorized as unusable just a few seasons ago. Because the longer you look at models like Le Bambino, Le Chiquito or Le Porte Lunettes, the more sense they make! Mini-Bags are perfect for every errand and appointment, where all we really have to do is put in our wallet, cell phone and keys. This avoids unnecessary ballast and also saves the constant search for the key. Oh, and of course the small models also look good! Does anything has to be added to that ...?
3. Cleo Bag from Prada
All active Instagram users have certainly noticed a very specific bag model in the past few weeks. What are we talking about here? The Prada's Cleo Bag, of course! Last month it captured our hearts at record speed and has always been omnipresent on Instagram. So it can already be said with certainty: this reinterpretation of the Cleo shoulder bag from the 90s is just warming up and will increasingly establish itself as a trend bag over the course of the year. The absolute favorite is the black medium model, which is not only nice to look at, but is also incredibly practical.
